How to vote for your 'The Voice Philippines' bets
Live shows start on August 25
MANILA -- By the end of the first live episode of "The Voice of the Philippines," four artists will have already been eliminated.
The ABS-CBN reality talent search will field the first batch of competitors for its live shows on August 25, before some 1,500 audience members at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.
Each of the four coaches -- Broadway diva Lea Salonga, pop star Sarah Geronimo, The Black Eyed Peas' Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda and rock icon Bamboo Manalac -- will have three artists battling it out, for a total of 12 performances on Sunday.
Representing "Kamp Kawayan" in the first Live Shows episode are music graduate Myk Perez, 22, from Palawan; college student Talia Reyes, 21, from Quezon City; and professional singer Lee Grane, 28, from Makati.
Geronimo will be fielding housewife Eva delos Santos, 51, from Cebu; theater actress Morissette Amon, 16, from Quezon City; and composer Junji Aranas, 36, from Makati.
Taking the stage for Team Lea are ex-Kulay member Radha Tinsay, 36, from Paranaque; freelance singer RJ dela Fuente, 27, from California; and indie music producer Darryl Shy 44, from Baguio.
Team Apl, meanwhile, will be represented by sidewalk vendor Cora dela Cruz, 27, from Cavite; student Jessica Reynoso, 16, from Laguna; and voice coach Thor Dulay, 32, from Davao del Norte.
Each of the 12 competing artists on Sunday, as in the international format of "The Voice," will be peforming songs selected for them by their respective coaches.
In a first on the Philippine television, voting for the artists will be done within the program's airing timeslot, with results announced by the end of the show.
After the performances of all three artists from a given team, viewers will be allowed to vote for around 10 minutes during the commercial break immediately following that round. The window for voting closes when the show resumes.
The same will apply for the remaining teams.
The artist who garners the highest number of votes from each team will be the first to be saved from eliminations. The coach will then have to choose who to save between the two remaining artists on his/her team.
The elimination for all four teams will be done at the end of the show.
According to the program's AdProm Head, MJ Felipe, viewers will be able to vote through text, E-pins, and online.
The full mechanics for voting will also be announced during the program. A voting window for Filipinos overseas, according to Felipe, will likewise be announced.
Ahead of the Live Shows, "The Voice of the Philippines" on Saturday will be airing the "Life Shows," which will feature the competing artists' life stories and special performances.
